We are a collection of privacy experts, theorists, and designers from a range of Dutch organisations.

We're trying to create "something in between reading nothing or reading a huge privacy policy". We believe good design can play a role here.







It started in 2018

Nobody was reading privacy policies...

We knew there had to be improvements to how consent worked online.

‌Could we create icons to help people quickly glance how their data was processed? Even the GDPR mentioned that the EU could at some later data implement icons
‌
A‌fter some attempts we realised icons wouldn't be enough...

Could we create a universal template?

We did countless tests, and consulted many experts and industries. 

‌We started fine tuning, doing more user tests, and improving the design.

‌Four years and countless iterations later, Privacy Label is the result.
